You can leave the age limits empty. To add a category relaxation, add the relaxation years to the maximum age.

How age is counted in government forms

A recruitment advertisement gives a cut-off date ("age calculated as on ..."). Age is counted on that date, not the application date. For people born on 29 February, the birthday is taken as 28 February in non-leap years.

Frequently asked questions

What does maximum age 27 mean?

In many recruitments it means you must not have completed 27 on the cut-off date, but the rule differs by advertisement. Always read the advertisement.

Does this tool save my date of birth?

No. The calculation runs in your browser; nothing is sent to a server.

Which date should I use as the cut-off?

Use the "age as on" date written in the recruitment advertisement, not today's date.

Is this tool free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up or login.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The page works on phone, tablet and computer browsers.

How is the age shown?

In years, months and days between the date of birth and the date you choose.

Can I find my age on a past or future date?

Yes. Change the cut-off date to any date and the age is worked out as on that date.

Can I use it to check a government job age limit?

It gives you the exact age on the cut-off date. Age relaxations differ by category and post, so always confirm the rule in the official notification.
